3 Tips For Setting Up A Home Podcast Space

If you have thoughts and ideas that you’d like to share with others, creating a podcast is a great way to do this. However, if you’re starting from scratch with your first podcast, you might not know exactly how to go about producing this content or how to even set up a space where you’re able to record and edit everything together for posting. Luckily, there are a few things that you can do now as you’re preparing to start your podcast to help you get off on the right foot.

To help you with this, here are three tips for setting up a home podcast space.

Opt For An Interior Room

For many people, starting their podcast at home is a great idea since they likely already have some space that they could turn into an area where podcasting can happen. However, you’ll want to be sure that you choose the right room in your home to do this so that you can have quality audio recorded for your podcast.

Ideally, you should try to find an interior room in your home that you use for podcasting purposes, like a home office. While you can probably make any room work for you, the quieter the room is and more isolated from outside noise, the better off you’ll be from an audio recording standpoint. With this in mind, opting for an interior room will likely be most ideal. This way, you won’t have a lot of outside noise bleeding through when you’re recording your podcasts.

Seek To Fill The Space

To help you record the best possible audio for your podcast recordings, you’ll want to try to fill the space in your room as much as possible.

When the room that you’re recording audio in is sparsely decorated or empty, the sound that you’re seeking to record can bounce off the walls and sound distorted when you record it. But if the room is more full, there will be less echoing that takes place. You can fill the space with soft pieces of furniture, area rugs, or even just padding that you add to the walls to help improve the quality of the sound that you’re able to record.

Don’t Use Squeaky Seating

When you’re recording your podcasts, you’ll want to have a comfortable seat to sit in and a comfortable place for any guests you might have as well. But before you move any furniture into your podcast recording space, you’ll want to make sure that it doesn’t make any sounds when you sit in it or move around in it.

If you have squeaky seating, it can ruin the audio that you’re recording for your podcast. This could make your recordings unusable and waste everyone’s time. So before you choose the furniture to put in this room, make sure you check that it’s quiet when people are using it.

If you want to set up a home podcast space for you to record the audio for your podcasts, consider implementing the tips mentioned above to help you with this.
